PERFORMING SINCE TALKING

Chicago and Onward

Beginnings

Hunter was making home movies with his siblings and cousins before he could even talk. For years, they recreated their favorite films on a big camcorder with tapes; Narnia, Mary Poppins, Pirates of the Caribbean, and countless more. He turned to stage acting in middle school, his first role being Chip the Teacup and his first high school lead being Harold Hill in The Music Man.

Training

It was at Cedarville University getting his BA in Theatre Performance that his passion for theatre increased exponentially, performing, directing, and stage managing in a combined thirteen shows. He received his MA in Acting & Contemporary Performance Making at Columbia College Chicago, studying Devised Performance, Lecoq Physical Theatre, Bogart & Landau's Viewpoints, Feldenkrais Method, Psychogeography, Bunraku-Style Puppetry, and Whitehouse's Authentic Movement.

Career

In Chicagoland, Hunter has performed with Otherworld Theatre Company, The Theater Lab, Woodstock Shakespeare Players, The Warehouse Theatre, Volo Museum, and Elsinore, A Theatre Ensemble. He's also performed with Generate Camps YM360, ushered with Broadway in Chicago, stage managed with On The Spot Theatre Company, and founded the actors collective, Neoteric Players, which hosts ongoing dramatic script readings. He currently works as Artistic Director of Silverstage Theatre Company.
